| Sawley & Long Eaton Park's big day is Sunday 10th April 2011 |
A week can be a long time for a cricket club. Well that is certainly the case with Sawley & Long Eaton Park – but perhaps over a fortnight. It is nearly a fortnight since the England Cricket Board told us we would be the NatWest Cricket Force showcase club for the Midlands – since then we had a committee meeting, had a visit from the ECBs Club Programmes Team asking us to commit to the concept, had a meeting with Derby College to discuss refurbishing the Graham Draycott Pavilion, formed an action group to exploit the potential of the event and had our first group meeting
What is Cricket Force and what will it look like on April 10th 2011 – we can expect over 150 volunteers on the park refurbishing the Graham Draycott pavilion, improving facilities in the main pavilion to ensure it conforms to Derbyshire County League 1st Division standards.
