Group had plenty of excellent ideas where to source the material we need – including local businesses All Fabrications [steelwork], Westermans [bricks], Smart kitchens [kitchen units] and Asda or Tesco [refreshments]. Discussed how to ‘sell’ the event to potential partners. Going to produce a list of points for partners to consider – sponsorship moved beyond ‘logo’ exposure – interested in grass roots news that can be conveyed to customers via their web sites. In addition need to attract smaller [£200] local partners – they need a different list of points including FREE club membership and a package of materials their contribution will purchase.
Already approached – Lafarge, Wilko, Long Eaton Glass while Long Eaton Plant Hire want to provide a skip for the event.
Club memebr Dean Hubbard will happily fit the units |
Finally the super prize draw is progressing slowly – but have appointment with Ilkeston Co-op Travel – to discuss ‘in kind’ contribution. Need to ensure tickets are actively sold rather put in the cupboard until nearer the time – may adopt a ‘pyramid selling type approach – appoint ticket champions whose job is to focus a small number of members to encourage them to sell tickets. Also considering a ‘top seller’ incentive – perhaps £250.
Group feeling positive that we can deliver a great event for the club, ECB and NatWest.
